I hope you all had a pleasant Thanksgiving holiday. I am teaching a workshop in Seattle at the beginning of next year and two classes in Santa Fe - details below. There are still some places available in both. Also if you happen to be in Dallas on December 12th, I have donated a small painting for their annual fundraiser auction.
It would make an excellent Christmas present!

Figure Painting in the Renaissance tradition
1/7-1/12, Mon-Sat, 9:30am-4:30pm [6 days]

In this concentrated oil-painting workshop, based on traditional 15th- and 16th-century techniques, you explore the painting process into three logical steps — developing an accurate drawing, refining a monochromatic underpainting and completing the work in full color. You learn to see and paint fundamental relationships, refining your priorities when developing your work. As you study historical paintings for interpreting the figure and learn to use them to your advantage as a modern painter, you sharpen your painting process and uncover your own artistic metaphors.
